This picture was taken a few years before her stroke. Twenty one years ago today, she passed away. When I look at the top picture I realize what a blessing it was for her to have death come as an angel of mercy after her stroke. When I look at the bottom picture it makes me wonder why that stroke happened (as I often do with Paula...although Paula is not nearly as bad as mom's was). Sometimes I think she had the stroke because it was the only way I could let her go with any kind of dignity. If I had not witnessed how helpless and unhappy she was with her loss of independence, I am not sure how I would had accepted what I am sure was our Heavenly Father's plan. One thing I do know, I was blessed with a wonderful mother. She had a strong testimony of the gospel, and she lived it....not perfectly...but the best she could. I thank Heavenly Father each day for allowing me to be born to her and for the many things she taught me through example and word. I love you Mom! Today we are celebrating your life as LUKE NATHAN BRIDGES is blessed in Sacrament Meeting today. I know you will be there. I know you are there for all of us as our Guardian Angel.
I CAN'T WAIT TO HAVE PICTURES OF LUKE'S BLESSING DAY TO POST.....HERE ARE A FEW TO HOLD US OVER UNTIL I CAN GET THAT DONE. WE LOVE YOU LUKE!!!
We love you Luke. Your mama will probably ask me "Why did you post that last picture? It was an up the nose shot Mama!" I posted it to see if she ever looks at my blog. Let's see how long it takes her to reply.
