Birthday smiles....from our happy guy!

His smile was and remains contagious.  OH HOW WE LOVE YOU AND YOUR SMILE!
Jake had just turned one and we got to have them here for Halloween because they were at Scottsdale's Mayo Clinic for 4 months....oh how we enjoyed that time!!
Jake loved Stanley and Sandy!  I remember he was so little but he would yell at them using the same tone he had heard his dad use.  I would laugh to hear that voice coming from such a little guy!
Jake with his new brother Will....they have always played so great together and have been best buddies!
Jake with Will in MN.  When I ask him about living there, he doesn't really remember much.  I think this picture was taken right before they moved to Dallas.
Shortly after Ty was born in Dallas....they moved to Denver and we all cheered that they were closer to home.  Jake has always been such a wonderful big brother.  He has never shown any kind of jealousy toward his brothers.
Jake started school while they lived in Denver (Castle Rock)....and one of their favorite things about being so close was that they could go to Ephraim for Scandinavian Days!
This was picture was taken in Castle Rock...it seems like yesterday!!
Fast forward to after Bo was born (I just did a post for his birthday)...and Jake's baptism in McAllen.  We all grew to love McAllen.  Jake's baptism day was so fun.  We spent the morning at So. Padre Island before his baptism that evening.  Jake is truly like a fish in the water and he loved going to the island.

Jake made some great friends in his ward there.  They will be forever friends for him!
.....and through it all...Jake still has the biggest smile of all!  He just started school in Henderson and he has already been making friends. In fact...he made a lot of friends before school started.  That is something that he does so easily because he is so kind and good.He already has girls in his class with crushes on him:)!   He also is loving his new ward....although he misses his ward family in McAllen.  Jake is very positive and that attitude will take him a long ways in his life.  He is our tallest grandchild, but he isn't too big to cuddle with me (and when he is it will break my heart).  He is also the one that will talk to us on the phone the most.  Sometimes he will call and just talk about school and what has been going on.  Since we aren't able to see him daily, this means to much to us.
Jake has such a cute sense of humor.  He likes to tell jokes and tell us about funny things that happen. Sometimes when he calls me he will just be waiting to tell me about something that he got a kick out of....and I love it!

Like I posted yesterday....this year has been a tough one, but this young man has such a strong testimony.  There is no doubt ....only faith in his heart.  He makes me so proud.  I can't believe that in 7 years he will be going on a mission, but I do know that he will be one awesome missionary....and one hard working missionary.  WE LOVE YOU TO THE MOON AND BACK AND HOPE YOU KNOW HOW MUCH YOUR MEAN TO US!!!  HAPPY 11TH BIRTHDAY!  WE HOPE IT IS THE BEST BECAUSE YOU DESERVE THE BEST!!

AND HE'S STILL SMILING.......
