THEY GET IT FROM THEIR FATHER.....I NEED TO DO SO MUCH BETTER!
All of my children, their spouses, and kids, are much better than me at following through with good intentions. I have grand intentions....my follow through is not the best.
I hope that Jeremy doesn't read this. He never likes me to say anything about the things he does. However, his experience is the one that is fresh on my mind.
Their ward in Henderson is HUGE! Still they have gotten close to a lot of people in the short time they have been there. We only know about this because the people he knows are related to Colleen and Randy, so they had been very good to them (SO ON HIS WAY HOME HE TOLD US ABOUT THE GUY TALKING ABOUT THE DAIRY AND KANOSH).
Jer was sitting with his family in Sacrament Meeting when they announced from the pulpit that THIS SPECIFIC brother in their ward needed special prayers and was in ICU...AT DESERET SPRINGS HOSPITAL (THAT IS THE HOSPITAL WHERE JER IS THE COO....BUT NO ONE IN THEIR WARD KNOWS THAT).
Jer sat through Sacrament Meeting and started Sunday School, but he couldn't stop thinking about this man and his wife. Finally, he just headed to the hospital (which isn't a short drive). When he got into ICU .... he learned that the man (diabetic) had some toes amputated the night before and they are concerned that they might have to amputate his foot . Of course the wife, and his family are very upset, and I am sure it helped to learn that Jer could talk to Drs. and get information for them more quickly.
It was no big deal to Jer, but it is the kind of thing I would have thought of and then possibly gotten around to doing. Jer, like his Dad, just moved immediately. I am so grateful for the good examples my family set for me!
